Sika Australia announces the acquisition of Construction Technologies Australia (CTA), a leading Australian-owned manufacturer of tile adhesives and associated products. The acquisition will expand Sika’s local manufacturing footprint and product range, making the company a leading supplier of surface preparation, adhesive and waterproofing products for tiling applications in Australia.

Miljan Gutovic, General Manager of Sika Australia explains that CTA’s product range will increase Sika’s presence in new and existing distribution channels, allowing the company to leverage cross-selling opportunities. CTA’s product range includes tile adhesives, grouts, waterproofing membranes, floor levellers and associated products, acoustics and sealants.

Mr Gutovic added that the acquisition will extend Sika’s manufacturing operations in Sydney and Brisbane, and provide an opportunity to streamline and optimise the production of powder and mortars to deliver cost savings and efficiency gains. The acquisition is a further step forward in the expansion of Sika’s mortar business, which grew by 31 per cent in 2014.
